The increasing virtualization of meetings is leading to communication in chat rooms and on online platforms such as Teams replacing exchanges via e-mail. The reasons are obvious. As more and more users work in home offices, chat rooms are being used to hold a conversation with any number of interlocutors on a purely virtual level. In contrast, classic e-mail communication was and still is more of a digital replacement for traditional letter mail.

However, the trend - toward chat, away from e-mail - has serious implications for the legal consequences of this type of communication. If a legally defined retention period already applied to e-mails in the event that they are business-relevant, this now also applies to chat records, provided that they also contain business-relevant messages or information.

In order to allow companies to fulfill this obligation, windream has seamlessly integrated MS Teams. Besides the security of reliably archiving the information exchanged in virtual meetings, users benefit from the possibility to search chat histories and shared documents full text.

Specific windream solutions based on the new windream Dynamic Workspace also allow to integrate additional applications into teams - from automated process management with windream BPM to the processing of incoming invoices and comprehensive file management. Thus, users will not only get a comprehensive view of all documents of a certain project in windream, but also in teams, for example.
